I had grilled and blackened grouper sandwich. The fish was great. Cooked perfect and very flavorful. I think I would get the grouper entree next time. The price is the same as the sandwich but comes with a 2nd side dish.
My daughter wanted a steak from The Top they don’t open until 5 this is midday so I started researching good steak places that are open midday . This was our 2nd visit to this establishment, my daughter ordered the New York strip medium , I had the wild caught cod with garlic mashed potatoes., we both subbed the Caesar for the Cole slaw and ordered the fried calamari for appetizer and death by chocolate to go. Ok so the steak was perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked, the cod was also perfectly blackened and seasoned. The mashed potatoes were delicious. The calamari was great, not too greasy the sauce for the calamari really elevated it took half it home . It was a great dining experience we will be back for sure . Kind of hard to impress me lol I’m a foodie and travel all over the world and my husband catches most of our fresh fish and lobster BUT we loved the food and quality and price points . Great job good food seasoned well shines so keep up the good work .
Was a nice place for locals and out of towers alike. Were able to get a table for 7 last minute and everyone, including the awkward celiac with the dairy allergy, was happy with their food! I have been told my friends who live in town order from here a lot and I can see why. My wife had salmon, broccoli and sweet potato. I had a burger.
Wow! This is a must try for everyone. The venue is huge with seating options from open to intimate. The size of the place explains how you can initially feel lost but as soon as your host arrives that changes and you are on their radar and served consistently. The menu is simply unbelievable, what variety! From seafood to duck to steaks to lobster the selection of entres was just as diverse as the appetizers, and sides. I was impressed with the tea and leomande blend and thought I would try the trout special thinking a combination of collars, grits, and coleslaw with fried fish could never truly work and I was pleasantly surprised. The trout was fried perfectly with seasoning and a light batter. The greens were beautifully seasoned and perfectly balanced to be savory without consuming. The grits could be a paragraph all of its own because not only did I not feel like I was eating breakfast the creamy texture without any coarseness changed the way I feel about grits all day. The true test was getting the coleslaw to blend and wow, they did it! The coleslaw was seasoned with balance in mind; not too sweet and not to tart, it was just right. I was literally thinking that with 5 out of 5, I should skip desert and coast the awesomeness but I was convinced to try the carrot cake and what splendid delight it was. This place is truly top quality. I can't wait to return and try some other items ; beautifully done!
Came here for a family gathering, the service was excellent and they were so amazingly accommodating for such a large crowd, very appreciative. The food was really good and honestly underpriced for the quality and portions! The smashed garlic potatoes are THE best I’ve eaten any where (and I’ve traveled a lot of different places/countries and eaten a lot of mashed potatoes! Lol). The fried shrimp were fresh and delicious, the fried oysters were excellent. Everyone enjoyed their food. I live in Palm Coast and will definitely be making the trek back to eat often!
The wait staff was great and fast. Food was amazing and came out fast as well. Had the Seafood pasta (they were also able to remove the shrimp due to my allergies 😁), seafood chowder, mozzarella sticks, and key lime pie. They were all great and worth the price! Would come again!
Everything was delicious! I came to Gainesville from Chicago, and after a long day of travel this food and their margaritas are 100% what I needed. Service was also great!
A friend took me there for lunch and everything was so good, food & service. I told my sister so now her & her husband go there quite often. The prices are very reasonable and the food is always good. I often get the cod which is so flaky and delicious
A Gainesville institution since 1996 (Go Gators). The Ville had changed a lot in 30 years, but NW Grille feels the same as it did when it first opened: great seafood, great people, and a cozy (if Purgatory) vibe. Tell Larry that I said hi.
Delicious food at reasonable prices served up by friendly staff - this is a great option for a family-friendly meal or a date night out. Lots of great options from seafood to burgers and more and plenty of drink options available as well from sweet tea to margaritas and everything in between. We had a dad/daughter lunch date with 2 other friends and their daughters here on a Saturday afternoon in April of 2026. Mickie was our server and took great care of us. Our first batch of mozzarella sticks wasn't up to par, so she proactively offered a replacement order that turned out much better. She kept the refills coming and made sure our 3 girls had what they needed to enjoy lunch. I definitely plan to go back another time with my wife for a tasty date night dinner.
